Thanks to the incredible support of our partner Jill Steiner, the Nguutu Foundation successfully drilled 145 meters in Masimba, Kenya, this week, striking clean groundwater. This new well will provide a reliable water source to two towns and a school that previously depended on state-managed wells, which often ran dry for much of the year.

Thanks to the incredible support of our partner Jill Steiner, the Nguutu Foundation successfully drilled 145 meters in Masimba, Kenya, this week, striking clean groundwater. We are excited to share a moment from our visit to A.I.C. Masimba Secondary School on June 5th! Here’s the Kenya team with Principal Lucy, right after meeting the board of directors. We are very grateful to Lucy and her wonderful Deputy Principal Daniel and staff for their warm welcome and hospitality. We brought socks, hygiene supplies, books, educational seminars, and of course, dum-dums for the amazing staff and students.

The team meets over a traditional Kenyan meal (thank you, Llorna!) to work out the final logistical details for the upcoming trip to Masimba Village, Kenya.

Dennis, Jill, and Sherman will arrive in Kenya on Monday, with Michael and Prof. Blackwell arriving the following Saturday. Tom, Nancy, and Llorna will continue to provide stateside support.
